Don Jarrell brings to Prista over 30 years of technology experience in product management, technology strategy and intellectual property management and licensing. In his role as Founder and President, Don has provided the vision for Prista and for the ActionCue Clinical Intelligence application.

Prior to Prista, Don founded Digital Thinking Inc. (DTI), a consulting firm for software and high-tech companies. Don specialized in consulting on product management, technology/business strategy, licensing, and protection and commercialization of intellectual property. He also has served as the Software Business Manager, a product management function, for Alcatel USA, Director of High-level Design and Business Architect at The Equitable, and the Director of Product Line Planning/Product Line Management with Northern Telecom, Inc (later know as Nortel Networks).

Billie Anne Schoppman brings over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry to Prista. In her role, Billie Anne provides domain expertise for the application development, as well as creates and manages a network of healthcare consultants as part of Prista’s operations advisory board and marketing channel.

Prior to her role at Prista, Billie Anne headed up and provided leadership for DTI Healthcare Professionals, where she still plays an active consulting role. Her focus at DTI Healthcare Professionals includes executive-level consulting services in change and improvement processes relating to healthcare operations, policy, quality and finance, with a strong operational and e-management focus. In addition, Billie Anne provides advisory and execution services in hospital operations, clinical services management, quality management, education and strategic IT.

Billie Anne has held many executive positions, including Sr. VP of Clinical Services at Cornerstone Healthcare Group, Regional Director of Operations at Vencor, Inc. (currently called Kindred) and several nursing management positions.

In addition, Billie Anne is a member of multiple affiliations, including Acute Long Term Hospital Association, American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, National Association for Healthcare Quality and National Association of Long Term Hospitals.

Billie Anne holds a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Management from the University of Alabama and a Nursing Diploma from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing. Continued education includes courses at the Kaplan College for Legal Nurse Consulting and a Master’s Program for Hospital Administration at the University of Alabama.

Marketing is responsible for inventing and opening new markets, building and positioning Prista as a trusted global brand, executing all digital and offline marketing, branding, messaging, PR, competitive analysis and experiential marketing for the sake of generating qualified leads for the sales organization.

Mark is a veteran marketing and operations professional serving the tech industry, including start-ups, emerging, and Fortune 100 companies. Mark graduated from Baylor University with a BA in Communications and is in constant study of the principles, laws, and mechanics of business. Mark lives happily with his family in Austin, Texas, enjoying competitive tennis, Tai Chi, and the outdoors.

Brian Deterling is Prista’s Chief Technology Officer and Chief Software Architect of Prista’s ActionCue Clinical Intelligence application. Brian has over 20 years of experience in software development in a variety of industries and technologies.

Prior to joining Prista, Brian was the co-designer and architect of the Insight™ application at Blue Sky Technologies. Brian was also a key member of the team that launched Blockbuster’s DVD delivery business and was the lead architect for the Blockbuster Online website. Prior to that, Brian spent nine years at EXE Technologies (now SSA GT) in a variety of roles, including Senior Software Architect for the company’s warehouse management and slotting applications.

He has been an successful tech entrepreneur since co-founding his first software company in 1968. Dennis is a noted high-technology industry director, executive and entrepreneur. He has founded or co-founded over a dozen different companies and been a CEO of both public and private companies, a consultant, venture capitalist, private investor and professional board member — 53 fiduciary corporate boards. In 1979, Dennis was the Keynote Speaker at the first COMDEX Show in Las Vegas. In 2011, he was elected to the IT Hall of Fame — Channel Wing, administered by CompTIA. Dennis is a recognized authority on corporate governance, boards of directors and information technology, including mobile applications, Internet, software, hardware, systems and communications. As well as his directorial duties at Prista, Dennis is currently on five other boards of directors. He attended UCLA where he majored in economics. He has an honorable discharge from the USMC (’65-’71) and lives with his wife in Carrollton, Texas.

Charles E. ‘Chuck’ Durant, Jr., FACHE is a healthcare executive with over 30 years of accomplishments in healthcare systems, hospitals and other organizations, having held positions as interim CEO, Executive Vice President, COO and System VP.

His achievements include strategic development and transformation of services such as laboratory service consolidation and implementation of robotic line automation equipment; initiatives to support population health management, including consultative pharmacy services deployment and discharge medication program; innovative staffing pools to meet seasonal volume fluctuations; initiatives to support medical research in pharmacy and imaging and growth strategies in home health, rehabilitation services, surgery and maternity.

As Chief Administrative Officer, one of Charles’ facilities achieved Magnet Nursing status, participated as one of only three hospitals nationally in a nursing research project in cooperation with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and helped the hospital system win the Codman Award from the Joint Commission.

He has had executive responsibility for a number of multi-facility, large-scale health information technology (HIT) system implementations and served on a system steering committee for HIT implementation.

Given a professional interest in how HIT can improve patient safety and quality of care outcomes, Charles obtained a Master’s level Certificate in Health Informatics from UT – Houston Health Science Center in addition to his Master of Hospital & Health Administration degree from Xavier University, Cincinnati. Charles graduated from University of Mount Union with his Bachelor’s degree and also holds a Master’s degree from University of South Carolina in social work. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), serves as the Advocacy Chair of the Austin, Texas HIMSS chapter, served on the Texas Hospital Association board and chaired the Patient Safety & Quality Council.

Charles is also very active in the community, currently serving as a member and past president of Northwest Austin Rotary Club and board member and past chair of Samaritan Health Ministries Clinic, Cedar Park, Texas. He is married to Jane J. Durant, and they are parents of Jennah Marie and Ryan Joseph Durant.

Beth graduated from Northeast Tech of Nebraska and holds active licenses as both LPN and LPN-C. She is also the past president of the South Central Hospital Education Network in Nebraska and is a current member of the Nebraska Association for Healthcare Quality, Risk and Safety.

When not proactively anticipating the needs of Prista clients — guiding them toward the best quality/risk management programs — Beth enjoys attending arts and crafts shows, and displaying her many creations.

Megan received her Bachelor of Science, Nursing degree from Montana State University, Bozeman. She and her husband, Josh, have a good time exploring the Colorado outdoors with Daisy the Wonderdog. Megan volunteers with a local animal rescue group and spends free time traveling and quality time with family and friends.

For the last nine years, she has applied this experience as a consultant and trainer for healthcare software. She strongly supports and promotes a culture of patient safety in healthcare organizations and believes that ActionCue is an excellent tool for efficient gathering of quality and risk management data and improving organizational performance. Sharon received her nursing degree from Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY. Sharon is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and has presented at healthcare quality conferences at both the state and national level. She resides in upstate NY and enjoys reading, traveling, camping with her husband in their “mobile cottage”, birdwatching and family time with her daughters and grandchildren.
